"Please, no more, Carol," George urged, rising from the couch where he had been comforting his sister. "I don't want you giving in to those blackmailers."
Carol looked up at him, her eyes red from crying. George took a deep breath, trying to stay calm for her sake. "You need to take a shower, get some food, and sleep. Turn off your phone so no one can disturb you. You need rest, Carol," he insisted, noticing how exhaustion was etched into every line of her face. "Look at you; tiredness is written all over you."
Carol winced, pressing her fingers to her temples. "I haven't eaten since yesterday. I was worried all night and barely slept. I can't stop thinking about it. Now I have this throbbing headache," she admitted, her voice cracking.
George frowned, concerned about deepening the lines on his forehead. "It's taking a toll on you, sis. To fight this, you need a clear mind and a rested body. I think some food has been prepared. Please, go eat something," he advised, gently but firml
