CHAPTER 291: MORE TO LIFE THAN BUSINESS

After countless Wednesday meetings, George was ready to call it a night when his secretary brought loads of work to his desk and an urgent meeting with new investors scheduled for four in the evening. He originally planned to go home, but George made a quick mental note to stop at his parent's house after his last meeting. “Mr. Lawson? The client is ready for you.” His secretary poked his head in to give him the message. “Thank you Dave. I’ll be right there.” Lincoln briefed him about the new partners, but he was more interested in the part where Lincoln barely touched on the new guy who had previously partnered with Lauretta. These days, George finds himself scribbling for any information he can get about Lauretta. In his defense, it looked like they were already worlds apart, but he couldn't seem to get her out of his mind. George tried to clear his head as he walked a short distance to his boardroom. The man stood up as George strolled into the room. “Nice to meet you Mr. Ja
