CHAPTER 15: TAKING A STAND
After a brief pause, Lauretta gave an icy laugh. "And what if I did have something to do with George? What are you going to do about it?"
"Lauretta, you promised to get rid of all the evidence. Why the hell did you go back to your word?!" George snapped. His anger had resurfaced, and Lauretta's nonchalance was fueling it.
"If it was so easy for me to get those incriminating pictures, how easy do you think it'd be for someone else with a grudge? Might I remind you, George, your girlfriend isn't exactly a saint? She has stepped on so many toes than you can imagine."
"I don't know about others but you are at the top of my list."
"I'm done with these pointless accusations." With that parting shot, she immediately hung up, leaving George simmering in helpless anger.
"Um sir, have you decided where you want to go?" His chauffeur asked nervously.
"Shut it and take me to the apartment." he barked.
