Nicole watched him quietly speak to his parents for a moment before getting into the police car and leaving the cemetery. Neither of them exchanged any unnecessary words.
Lyra, holding an umbrella by Nicole's side, asked curiously, "I thought you two had nothing left to say. Why did you even look at him one last time?"
"I don't know... Maybe I just wanted to say goodbye," Nicole replied as she got into the car and fastened her seatbelt.
