Griffin's entire body stiffened as Nicole's sharp, icy words hit him, sending a cold shiver down his spine. He raised his hands in surrender, suddenly finding himself sobering up. "Coco, I understand you might not be ready. But please, don't be so upset. Have you come to hate me so much that you were ready for this? I'm sorry." He lowered his head as he stared at Nicole. Her breathing was steady, but her expression remained dark and unreadable. She scoffed and spoke again, her tone colder than before. "Yes, I hate you. Even though we're married, I don't want any kind of relationship with you." Griffin lowered his head, accepting her words. "It's okay, Coco. I'll respect your wishes and wait until you're ready. I won't force you into anything. I love you." With that, he turned and left the room
