Nicole was initially very relaxed. However, when she saw Jacob, there were immediately some subtle changes in her expression. She frowned out of surprise. For a moment, she actually looked a little nervous. Griffin was visibly surprised after seeing Jacob as well. He raised his eyebrows slightly and looked at Jacob in confusion. "Jacob? If I'm not wrong, I didn't invite you, did I? Why are you here?" Griffin asked. Jacob acted as if he hadn't heard Griffin. He straightaway walked over to Nicole's side and sat next to her naturally. He held her hand like he was claiming her as his before plainly stating, "Have you forgotten that we've worked together before, Mr. Sullivan? That being the case, there shouldn't be anything wrong with me coming here to discuss the follow-up, right?" Griffin had been so busy dealing with Nicole lately that he ended up completely forgetting about his joint project with Jacob. He frowned and was at a loss of words for a moment because of what he said.
