Chapter 14

Feeling humiliated and unable to respond, Sarah awkwardly tugged on Kellie's arm to stop her from arguing further. She whispered, "Kellie, there's no point in arguing with her. It's beneath us to quibble with such a low-class person. Aren't you a VIP customer? We should ask the manager to chase her out of here. Don't let her ruin our shopping experience." Kellie clenched her teeth and held back from lashing out at Nicole. She immediately called the store manager, Brian Zent, and commanded, "Mr. Zent, there's an annoying customer here ruining my shopping experience. I need you to get rid of her right now!" Nicole watched Kellie end the call with a smirk and turned to Sue, who was typing on her phone. Sensing Nicole's gaze, Sue glanced up and gave her an "okay" gesture with a sly smile. The salesperson, having overheard enough to grasp the high-society drama unfolding, decided that siding with Kellie, the legitimate family member, was more beneficial than supporting the ex-wife who had been cast out. He quickly moved to Kellie's side, eagerly showing her options on his tablet and offering his assistance. "Ms. Blake, which model are you interested in? I've been working here for two years and can answer any questions you might have." Kellie raised an eyebrow as she recalled the salesperson's condescending attitude toward Nicole. She flipped through the tablet and replied, "Ms. Green is buying the car, not me. She's the fiancee of the future heir to Blake Group. Serve her well, and you shall be well-rewarded." The salesperson beamed with delight and hurried over to flatter Sarah. "Oh, Ms. Green! No wonder I thought you looked familiar. I love your movies from abroad. Can I get your autograph later?" Sarah basked in his compliments while maintaining her composed and graceful demeanor. "Of course, I'd be happy to. Thank you for enjoying my work." The salesperson continued, "Your elegance is truly unmatched. It is a stark contrast to those who think they've climbed the social ladder but are just commoners." Ignoring the insult, Nicole nonchalantly pulled Sue toward a nearby car, saying, "I think this one looks pretty good." "What do you think you're doing?" The salesperson suddenly lunged forward and smacked Nicole's hand from the car door. "If you can't afford it, then leave! Don't you dare touch anything, or I'll call the police!" Nicole's hand turned red from the slap, and she was about to retaliate when she noticed the store manager hurrying over with security in tow. Kellie immediately pointed at Nicole and Sue, saying, "Mr. Zent, it's them! Get them out of here!" Without saying a word, Brian strode over to Nicole with a stern expression. The salesperson, feeling triumphant, quickly sidled up to Brian. "Mr. Zent, these two women aren't here to buy anything. They were about to damage our luxury cars. Luckily, I stopped them. You can't let them off easily!" Brian suddenly turned and fixed a cold, hard stare on the salesperson. The latter felt uneasy and asked, "Mr. Zent, why are you looking at me like that? Did I do something wrong?" Brian lightly but firmly patted the salesperson's cheek. "You've been here for two years and still lack basic judgment. I clearly misjudged you!" He then turned and pointed at Sarah and Kellie. "Security, escort him and these two out immediately. Don't let them disturb the black card customers' shopping experience." Kellie panicked and grabbed Brian's arm. "What the hell are you doing, Mr. Zent? I'm a VIP customer. You should be chasing the two of them out!" Brian pulled his arm free and stepped back to distance himself from Kellie. "My apologies, Ms. Blake. You're only an entry-level VIP customer. A black card customer has the authority to remove your VIP rights." He gestured to the door and continued, "Please don't make things difficult for us." Kellie looked at Nicole and Sue in astonishment. "How could they? It's impossible! There are only thirty black cards in the country." Sue crossed her arms and strolled over to Nicole. She let out a derisive laugh and said, "Hard to believe, isn't it? The daughter of a prestigious family like the Blakes can only afford an entry-level VIP status at a car dealership?" Just as Kellie was about to snap back, Sarah quickly grabbed her arm and whispered, "Kellie, don't get worked up. Who knows how she even got that card? "Remember, Jacob has a black card, too. Maybe someone's just using his name to throw their weight around." Kellie grabbed Sarah's arm and said anxiously, "Exactly! They must have stolen Jacob's credentials. Sarah, call Jacob and have him punish these thieves!" Sarah looked uneasy but couldn't afford to show weakness in front of Nicole. She dialed Jacob's number, but the call went straight to voicemail. Sarah's face flushed with embarrassment as the electronic tone echoed in the showroom. "M-Maybe he's in a meeting and has 'Do Not Disturb' on," Sarah muttered while redialing Jacob's number frantically. Brian grew impatient, but on the seventh attempt, the call finally connected. Without waiting for a greeting, Sarah said gently, "Jacob, are you in a meeting? Why haven't you answered?" Whatever Jacob said on the other end made Sarah's face falter for a moment, but she quickly masked it with an affectionate expression. Sue shuddered at Sarah's theatrics. She leaned in and whispered to Nicole, "Talk about a performance. Her face is turning pale, but she's still keeping up with the lovesick act." Nicole chuckled softly. "They're a match made in heaven. Jacob's a jerk, and she's a master of deceit." Before she could finish speaking, Sarah said aggrievedly, "Jacob, can you check if your black card has been misused?" She glanced at Nicole before continuing, "It's not a big deal. Kellie and I are at the car dealership, and we bumped into Ms. Barnes. She claims to be a black card member and is trying to kick us out." Sue, unable to contain her laughter, shouted, "I'm repeating once more. This is my black card, not Jacob's! What does he have to do with this?" Upon hearing Sue's remarks, Jacob instructed Sarah, "Put me on speaker."
