Jacob hummed in acknowledgement before lowering his hand and glancing at Nicole. "Then I'll tell you next time when you bump into the tree." Nicole noticed that the Jacob these past few days seemed different from before. Noticing her staring at him, he took a step closer and bent down. "What?" Startled by his sudden approach, Nicole stumbled backward. Jacob immediately caught her by the waist. "Are you so determined to crash into a tree that you want to hit the one behind you now?" Feeling the heat from his palm, Nicole broke free from his grasp. "Y-You better stay away from me! It's all because of you." Nicole bit her lip and turned around. "I-I don't want to talk to you. Don't follow me!" Watching her storm off in a huff, he stood there, smiling. "Damn Jacob! Stupid Jacob!" she cursed while walking away. In her confusion, she didn't realize she had wandered into a different path and entered another courtyard. By the time she came to her senses, she was lost at a crossroad.
