Chapter 98
"Seriously? Aren't humans three-dimensional creatures who are bound to the laws of time?" someone among the gathered attendees exclaimed. "It'd be really difficult to reverse time, no?"
"It's certainly impossible for humans," said Gregory.
He straightened his clothes, then continued, "Haven't you guys heard of it? A brand new religion has appeared among the people, and it's become very popular."
The lights above them flickered suddenly, the lighting tubes emitting a sizzling sound. The atmosphere suddenly turned creepy.
"What sort of religion?" asked Abel.
"Outer gods," replied Gregory, enunciating each word clearly.
Someone felt a cold sensation against their back and, as if trying to divert their own attention, called out in the direction of the cashier, "Hey, is your steakhouse's circuit board faulty or something? Why are the lights flickering?"
Just as the words left his mouth, his vision suddenly darkened. Their surroundings were enveloped in darkness.
