When Elara approached, No.17 cautiously wrapped his tentacles around the hem of her shirt. Then, he rubbed his cheek against her palm, drawing patterns on her skin with the tip of his tall nose.
Elara was what mattered to him. Her early return came as a surprise to him.
She swept off some pieces in his dark hair and realized those were fragments of paper. Only then she noticed the newly-unwrapped table that someone had moved into her makeshift office.
She assumed that No.17 had helped to unwrap the table before her return and swept all the trash into the trash can.
There were water stains on the floor. Fragments of paper clung onto his tentacles.
