The two metal doors used for defense purposes were now completely dissolved—it seemed the sea slug's bodily fluid had corrosive effects.
As it chewed on the Petri dish, the mucus dripping from its mouth melted Elara's chair, making a sizzling sound. Before long, dark holes appeared all over the chair.
She could tell that her face probably had gotten splashed with that substance too.
Elara didn't have the luxury of time to feel the pain of her face being disfigured, as she had to find a way to hide and not be discovered.
