Chapter 962 Don't Leave Me Hanging
I had hinted to Lucas that he should wait for Astoria to pick him up. He might not want to see me, but I figured if he could bump into someone he used to know, he would not keep hiding.
Idris was back with the medicine in no time. He had a plastic bag in hand, filled with antiseptic and ointment. He was supposed to take me straight to the hospital, but I had insisted on making that call to Astoria, so I had him grab some first aid supplies instead.
"If it hurts, just let it out," Idris said as he treated the scrape on my palm. I was biting my lip so hard and going rigid with the effort not to show pain. He could not help but give me a sympathetic look.
I tried to smile through the pain, insisting, "It's nothing, just a scratch."
However, when he pried a small stone from the cut, I could not help but hiss in pain.
He gave me a look that was tender and exasperated. "I thought you said it didn't hurt. Why the fuss?"
I could not fake a smile any longer and grimaced, saying cautiously
