Chapter 905 Hungry
I was all set to hear Charlotte out when she suddenly clammed up. I hung in there for a bit. I could not help blurting out, "Is that all?"
She just nodded. "That's all."
What was that guy's deal with the kids?
I could not make heads or tails of it, so I let it go. Perhaps he was just being a dad, wanting to catch a glimpse of his kids. End of story.
I turned to Charlotte and gave her a reassuring smile. "He probably just missed you guys and wanted to check in. Don't sweat it, okay? Hit the hay early. Nighty-night."

The following day was a lazy Saturday with zilch on my to-do list. I used to be at the hospital every single day. Now that Idris was back in the land of the living, I found myself in a real pickle about whether to show up or not.
I was still flip-flopping come lunchtime when Idris rang me up.
Staring at his name on my phone, I waffled for an eternity before finally swiping to answer.
"Yvette, where are you?" Idris' voice was a low rumble, all cool and collected.
