Next to him, on the little corner table stood an almost empty whiskey bottle, its contents dwindling, as if it had been sipped on for hours. His back was to me, and for a second, I just froze, my hand hovering over the glass door handle. "There was something about his silhouette that was just too heart-wrenching.
