Chapter 713 I am Lighting This Fire Myself
The pavilion, the babbling brook, the blooming flowers, and the fish swimming in the pond made for a pretty sweet scene. I rested my chin in my hand, taking it all in, while he sat close by with an easy smile. "Pretty nice, huh?"
I nodded. "The view's great. Hope the food matches up."
His smile widened a bit. "You'll find out soon."
I nodded again, feeling for a moment like I was some kind of food critic.
"Yvette, is there anything in particular you've been wanting to do?" he asked out of the blue.
My mind, which had been wandering, snapped back at his question. I turned to him, a bit confused. "What?"
He gave me a soft smile, his eyes warm. "Ever dream of doing something big, or getting your hands on something you really want?"
I had no clue why he had dropped that question on me out of the blue. Before I could stop it, however, a thought flashed through my mind: what I really wanted was to see the bad guys get what they deserved, to give some peace to those who could not rest.
