Chapter 547 We Lost Again
Idris shook his head, his lips pressed into a thin line as he scooped me up in his arms and yelled over his shoulder to Gregory, "Get a doctor, now! She needs help."
Gregory was already on his phone, his fingers tapping out a number in a panic.
I never knew that a slashed throat would not kill me instantly. I could feel my blood pouring out like a river, the pain from the wound so sharp it was terrifying. It was a strange clarity, knowing death was coming and feeling every second tick by as I waited for it.
Waiting to die was the worst kind of agony.
Lucas stood frozen, his face ashen. He tried to move toward me, but Gregory's guys held him back, their grips iron-tight. His eyes were red with fury, and he seemed on the edge of madness as he screamed at Inch, "Do something! Save her!"
Inch, who had been slow on the uptake, finally got it and yelled into the trees behind him, "Now! Move!"
Gunshots rang from the hills at the same moment, kicking up clouds of dust.
