Chapter 8 Found Eight
I continued my plan to enroll in a fashion class. This is just a short course, suitable for three months, and I think this is enough to help with my future work.
There was no problem with mommy; they think it's a good move for me.
Just a few days, and I will start working with Vince. So now Vince will introduce me to his stylist.
Vince picked me up at our house. He is handsome and easy to get along with. He reminds me of Charles.
"You know what, Vince, you remind me of someone," I told him.
"Really? Who is he? Your first love?" He said foolishly, then he winked.
I rolled my eyes. "Of course not! My best friend Charles."
"Oh, I see. Where is he now?" He asked while looking straight at the road.
"He's in Korea. He worked there. It was his dream to become Kpop." I said, laughing.
Yes, he is in Korea now to fulfill his dream of becoming Kpop. We were graduating when he sent an audition video in Korea. We were having fun. He is half Korean; that is why he can speak Korean. Chinky eye and fair complexion, but he doesn't look like a Korean, maybe because there is a mixture of Filipino blood in him. Like Jester, Charles was also a heartthrob on our campus.
After graduation, he told me that he would fly to Korea because he was accepted in one of Korea's famous star agencies. He has also been a trainee for a long time. It took him one year to debut, but he debuted fast because the others took seven years before they had their debut.
"Kpop? The Korean groups that sing and dance?" He asked.
"Most of the Kpop group are like doing that, but Charles' group is a band. He is their leader, face, and guitarist." I explain.
He frowned and looked at me for a moment but immediately returned to the road "face?"
"Yes, face. In the Kpop group, they have what you called 'face" in their group. It is the most handsome in the group; the main task of the ‘face' is to gather many fans."
He chuckled. "Woah! Is he that handsome? Is he more handsome than me?" He said teasingly.
'I feel so cold. It seems like the air conditioner is too cold." I teased him.
We both laughed. A few minutes later, we arrived at the office slash boutique of Vince's stylist.
Her assistant immediately assisted us. Moments later, a beautiful and very sophisticated woman appeared. She is in her late 30's, almost the same age as mommy. I am sure this will be my boss.
"Hi, Auntie Zel!" Vince went to greet her.
"Hi, Vince! So is she the one you mentioned?" She asked with a smile.
"Yes, Auntie. She's Allison Alonzo, Auntie Celine's daughter." Vince introduced me to her.
"Oh, hi! So your Celine's daughter. Your mom and I are in the same circle. You know because we are in the same industry. Nice to finally meet you." She said, then she offered her hand for a handshake, and of course, I accepted it.
"Nice to meet you too, Ms. Zel!" I greeted her with respect.
"Oh dear, just call me Auntie Zel since your mom is very close to me." She said.
I smiled at her. 'If that's what you want, Auntie Zel."
She told me my job description. So basically, I look like Vince's personal assistant, but I focus on his outfits and looks. He has his makeup artist, but still, as his stylist, I need to supervise it.
Vince and I were on our way home when we thought of having dinner first. He took me to an expensive restaurant. Well, we chose a private room since he is a celebrity, we are avoiding gossip.
"It's also hard to be an actor, isn't it?" I asked him when we started eating.
"Yes, a bit. Because you will lose your privacy, so you need to be careful with your every move. Like today, I'm sure if a reporter sees us, I'm sure that we will be a headline tomorrow." Said Vince.
"Headline right away? You are exaggerating!" I commented.
"Exaggerating? I'm not because it's true. Maybe you are forgetting something. You are an Alonzo, and I am a Concio. The daughter of the owner of a well-known Magazine Company and the son of the owner of a leading TV Network were seen having dinner together at a romantic restaurant. Do you think that's not the headline yet?" He sounds so sure of what he said.
I nodded. "Why did you bring me here then?" I asked him.
"I know the owner, and we have privacy here." He explained.
'Nobody saw us, right?" I asked him. I suddenly got nervous.
He is right. When a reporter knew that we are having dinner together, they will assume something and make it a big headline. He is not just an ordinary celebrity, and I am not an ordinary person either. Also, our family business is in the same industry. We may be in a different medium, but still, we are in the same circle. If this simple dinner is caught by a reporter or any gossiper's attention, it will be a problem.
I hope that nobody sees us tonight.
But it seems like my prayer hasn't been heard because no matter how careful we are, still, it is not enough for the reporters not to see us.
When I woke up in the morning, Lance went to me and handed me the newspaper, and Vince and I are in the headline.
'You need to prepare for an answer, young lady! You did not ask Uncle if you are allowed to date." Lance said to annoy me.
'You always act like a child." I hissed and then closed the door.
We were having breakfast when mom broke the silence.
'Alli, can you be honest with us? What is going on between you and Vince?" My mom asked.
'Auntie is right! I thought you were dating Andrew?!" Lance butt-in.
I glared at him.
'Shut up, Lance. It is still early to annoy me!" I told him, then I rolled my eyes.
He chuckled. He's so annoying.
"No, mom. He just introduced me to his stylist, who will be my boss when I start to work with him. Then it took us a while, and it's already dinner time, so we thought of having dinner first before he sends me home," I explained.
"But I don't see anything wrong with you dating Vince. The reporter here is right; Vince is good for our business." My dad commented.
"But we were just friends, daddy," I said.
OMG! I never imagine that I will be able to hear those things that dad had said. It seems like I'm in a novel or drama series with those dialogues.
Even on weekdays, Lance's group is complete. I seem to know why they suddenly rushed here.
'Alli, I thought you and Andrew have something? So what is this we read on the headline?" Mike started to tease me.
Vince went to me smiling. 'What did I tell you?"
Why does it seem like he is not affected or annoyed by the headline? He even looks like he is happy because what he said to me last night is right. It was precisely what he said that is in the headline. It seems like the reporter recorded what he said last night.
'Fine! Everything you said last night is right happy now?!" I said, a bit sarcastic.
'But you know what, Vince? It seems like uncle likes the idea of you two dating." Lance started to tease us again.
'Really? Uncle thought of that?" Amusement is seen in his face
'Yes! He said that the idea of you two dating is good for both families." He answered.
We saw Andrew leaving. He just arrived, then he will already going? What is his problem?
'Oh, where are you going, bro? I thought love is not jealous?" Mike teases him.
'Yes, I said that. I am not jealous. I want to talk to my parents and ask them to buy a big share in a TV network and a radio station. It seems like we chose the wrong business industry."
All of us dropped our jaw at what he said.
