CHAPTER SEVENTY THREE: UNREGRETTABLE MISTAKE
Axel left the Rosewood Estate with a tumult of emotions swirling inside him. The engagement party, though beautiful, had only magnified the unresolved feelings he harbored for Sarah. He tried to focus on Diana, to appreciate her kindness and the future they were planning together, but the ghost of his past love lingered like a shadow he couldn't shake.
Driving aimlessly through the city, Axel found himself at his favorite bar. It was a place he used to frequent with friends, a place where he could drown his thoughts in the comforting haze of alcohol. He sat down at the bar and ordered a whiskey, then another, and another. Each glass seemed to deepen the chasm of his thoughts, pulling him further into memories of Sarah.
The bartender, noticing Axel’s increasingly despondent state, approached him with a concerned look. “Hey, buddy, you sure you’re okay?”
Axel looked up, his vision slightly blurred. “Just keep them coming,” he mumbled, sliding another empty glass across the counter.
