CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN: RESCUED

Sarah took a deep breath and quietly looked into Sally's eyes. Sally lowered her head silently. That annoying woman! Sarah cursed silently in her mind. Seeing Sally and Sarah reacting differently, the people around became more convinced that Sarah had bullied Sally! Sarah felt like exploding with anger at the accusations. But her rational mind told her not to lose her composure! She was Axel's secretary. Despite having many grievances against her boss, in such a public setting, her every move represented Axel's reputation. If she did something out of line, she might lose her job instantly, or worse, tarnish the company's reputation. The occasion tonight was indeed special; there were likely journalists around. Sarah could guess that some reporters were already aiming their cameras at her... What should she do? If she mishandled this, she could be out of a job tomorrow!
