CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY TWO: FAMILY
The weeks that followed Oliver’s return were filled with joyous reconnection and the rekindling of family bonds. Jonathan and Ariana dedicated themselves to creating an environment where Oliver could thrive, and in doing so, they found themselves rediscovering the depth of their own relationship.
One Saturday morning, Jonathan awoke to the sound of laughter echoing through the house. He smiled to himself as he stretched and climbed out of bed, the sunlight streaming through the windows. It was a perfect day for a family outing, and he had a few ideas in mind.
Downstairs, he found Ariana and Oliver in the kitchen, making pancakes. Oliver’s face was smeared with flour, and Ariana had a smudge on her cheek. The sight warmed Jonathan’s heart.
“Good morning,” he greeted them, leaning in to kiss Ariana on the cheek and ruffling Oliver’s hair. “What are you two up to?”
“Pancakes!” Oliver exclaimed, grinning up at his father. “Mom’s teaching me how to flip them.”
