I relaxed back into my seat as I waited for my assistant to bring me a glass of water. My fingers unconsciously went to my slightly dried lips, a testament to my dehydration, and I sighed slowly.
My life had gradually been reduced to finding the solution to the ugly situation that had reared its head months ago.
It's not like I had much of a life before the issues started anyway, but at least then, I only had to worry about the upkeep and smooth running of the pack.
It's not about following trails and having to heartbreakingly hear about the constant disappearances of men, women, and children. Then, I didn't have to worry about whether or not it was safe to attack the covens of powerful witches and sorcerers.
