CHAPTER 70 ENEMIES OF FRIENDS
Dominic’s Pov
“I see.” I nodded, leaving Minerva to glance at the burning animals momentarily.
“That is one hell of a sight.” "Yeah," she said, exhausted in her voice.
Shaking her head, she staggered, and I closed the gap between us, grabbing her as she laid her hands on my chest.
We stood like that for a moment before she got herself up, and looking up to meet my gaze, she slowly withdrew from my grasp, her hand going to the back of her neck as she glanced around awkwardly.
“My apologies for that. I didn’t mean to.” She looked away. I gave her a long look, then slowly walked past her, adding.
“We should get going.” Struggling with our fatigue and dog tiredness, we shuffled forward, going upward to the main road that led to the city.
I glanced back to see Minerva was lagging, so I waited some time for her to catch up, and then we continued again in silence, except for the soft rustling of leaves caused by the slight wind that enveloped us.
As we trudged on, I saw a faint glimp
