CHAPTER 34 TEARING THROUGH A VEIL

"Minerva?" I called out, but there was still no answer.
This was precisely why I wanted her to stay back. I had been looking and calling out for her for six minutes, but there was no sign of her.
I was stressed, and my ears rang from all the echoes in the cave. As if on cue, my stomach grumbled loudly, announcing my extreme hunger.
We had been on this bloody mission for over three hours, and I was getting fed up with each second.
"Minerva?!!"
I huffed an irritated breath and swiped at something that flew across my face as I moved deeper into the enclosure.
"Min Min?"
"You know how much she hates that name,"
I couldn't be easily startled, but hearing Shreya's voice almost made my knees buckle.
"Why do you look so surprised?" She said it again. I watched in shock as she stepped into an area illuminated mainly by sunlight pouring through a crack in the rocks above.
She suddenly laughed precisely the same way my sister laughed.
