CHAPTER 146 THE WRONG GROOM

The city is alive with excitement as I walk along the busy roads. It's late evening, the night before Minerva's marriage to Gaius. My reflection shows nothing of my true self; all I can see is a plain older man. I'm deeply engrossed in this body, actively seeking expression through all available channels.
"Hey, old man, get off the road!" I hear some young lad call out to me.
I cast a quick glance at him, clenching my hands into a tight fist, but the body I inhabit betrays me. I realise I can't even close my fingers properly. The anger was deep within me, yet my body, including my muscles and bones, was weak.
I walk away from the young lad; if only I could access my real body, he wouldn't speak to me in such a manner. He won't dare to look at me with such scorn.
It takes me a few more minutes to reach the wedding venue; I cling to my staff, who guides me as far as my strange body allows.
