Ezra sat in the middle of the room, his head held high but his eyes betraying the fear coursing through him.
Rocco stood across from him, his expression unreadable. He crossed his arms, his fingers tapping lightly against his bicep as he stared at his grandson. "Ezra," he began, his voice calm with the authority of a man who had spent his life in control. We need the truth. Did you take the documents?"
Ezra’s jaw tightened, his eyes narrowing as he shook his head. "I’ve told you, Grandpa, I didn’t take anything. I swear."
Wilson, who had been pacing back and forth like a caged animal, stopped dead in his tracks. He turned to Rocco, his eyes wide with disbelief. "Dad, you can’t seriously believe Ezra would do this! He’s your grandson, for God’s sake!" His tone held despair, the thought of his father doubting his son pushing him to the brink.
