
The words made him feel dejected, but he masked it and decided to look like a complete jerk.
“Yes, that's true; I don't care if you get hurt, but at least don't die in my presence; I don't want to be questioned by someone I don't care about death,” his voice trembled as he uttered such cruel statement, but Eleanor failed to notice the sadness in his voice, she was busy suppressing the pain when her heart was cut into slices.
“You are right; we are not meant to be. Where is the paper?” she requested after confirming with him directly. 'He doesn't want me anymore. I was fooled. I was cheated on!’ she chanted in her head, reminding herself to control her emotions.
She didn't want to be swayed away by his gesture. Levi was a little relieved that she wanted to sign the divorce papers, but deep inside, he wanted to hold her in his arms.

“I am sorry. I didn't mean to delay you, Mr. Rodriguez,”  she said with a sneer. His harsh words were fresh and clear in her memory. She smirked cunningly at him.
Eleanor intentionally came in late just to piss him off. Since she was aware of his principles, making him angry was a piece of cake. She wasn't dumb not to know a few details about him after spending so much time together.
Levi was stunned to see her in such a position. He couldn't stop thinking about the switch. Eleanor was a classy lady, but she never dressed like that. She was wearing heavy makeup, and her hairstyle was unusual.
She didn't like wearing make-up because she thought it was a waste of time, and she loved being natural.
He didn't know what happened, but seeing her doing fine soothes his mood.
He was fighting the urge to wrap his arms around her so badly, but he didn't want to look pathetic after divorcing her i


Levi walked out of the house without looking back. He could hear Eleanor's voice crying from behind, but he didn't have the luxury to look at her at the moment.
'I don't deserve you,' he whispered as he walked towards his car. He stopped and picked his phone out of his pocket.
He dialed his butler's number. The call was answered immediately. “Hello, Master,” a man in his late forties said politely from the other end.
“I won't be coming home anytime soon. Make sure she eats well,” he said without explaining his words, and the man on the other end of the phone understood.
“Okay, Master,” he replied without any questions since he knew who he was referring to. He hung up immediately when he heard his reply.
He hurried into his car and zoomed out of the penthouse. Hearing Eleanor's cry was giving him more emotional damage.
Eleanor lay on the cold floor without caring about her health or the life growing inside her.
She didn't sleep a wink until the morning sun seeped into the living room. The morning breeze blew the curtains slowly, and she danced to the rhythm.
The morning was just a nightmare for Eleanor. 'I don't want to live anymore' tears rolled down her cheeks uncontrollably.
The butler resumed work, and Eleanor could hear his footsteps, but she wasn't in a position to care about honor.
“Good morning, Mrs Rodriguez,” the butler greeted the miserable-looking Eleanor. Seeing her haggard face, Prescott could tell something was wrong.
He knew it was unusual of his Master to call him for such matters, but he didn't dare to query his order.
She stood up and nodded at him, not bothering to say anything as she walked past him.
He followed her. “I will have the chef prepare your favorite food,” the butler said. “I am not hungry,” she said dismissively.
“You should eat something, ma'am,” he said, and that made Eleanor halt her, seeing how persistent he was. “Did he order you to do this?” She asked with a confused look.
“I am just worried about you, ma'am,” he replied; he knew who she was referring to without asking. She scoffed at his words. She wasn't ready for anything yet.
She needed to stabilize her mental health; she could feel something more coming her way.
Eleanor sat down and waited for Levi. She wanted to see him so bad for some reason she was unaware of; she couldn't believe she wanted Levi after such betrayal.
She heard the sound of a cat zooming inside the parking lot. She stood up, waiting for someone to come inside. The door was open, and the person turned out to be Harry.
Harry took reasonable steps towards Eleanor. He made sure he didn't make eye contact with his boss's wife, but he could see how miserable she looked.
His right hand, holding the divorce file, quivered out of pity.
“He asked me to give you this,” Harry said, placing the file on the table. He wanted to turn around, but he felt sad seeing how his Boss's marriage had turned into a nightmare because of an accident.
“I won't sign it,”  Harry hated his steps as he heard Eleanor mumble. Harry bowed slightly instead of saying anything, and he turned around to leave.
“Tell your Boss to bring it himself!” Eleanor yelled, aggressively tearing the files, and the divorce clause was in the air.
The piece was scattered around the living room. Eleanor's heart was more damaged than the papers; her emotions were shredded.
Harry left the room immediately because he was not permitted to see his Boss's wife in such a situation. Harry drove back to the company.
“Boss,” Harry called the attention of Levi, who was busy reading a report that was turned upside down. “You are back…. did she sign it,” he said the last words slowly.
He asked for a divorce. “No, sir,” he replied. Levi sighed heavily. He didn't know what he felt, but he felt a little bit relieved, knowing his wife still had something left for him.
But he couldn't hold onto that. “She wants you to bring the paper yourself, Boss,”  Harry reported.
“What?” A gasp escaped from his mouth. He was never ready for her; he couldn't stand seeing in the state she was in.
“Print another one and send it to her,” Levi ordered. Harry could see how hurt his Boss was, and he wanted to talk, but he couldn't because he knew it wouldn't heal him at the moment.
“Yes, Boss,” he bowed slightly and exiled the room.
“Another file was sent to Eleanor, but she rejected it continuously, demanding to see Levi.
“What did she really want?” Levi brushed his finger through his hair. His appearance might be cold, and his aura might be dark, but he was troubled and couldn't stop thinking about his wife.
‘'I need to stop loving her!’ he scolded himself inwardly. “Boss, I think you should go see the young mistress; she needs y__.” Harry was talking but paused when he realized that he shouldn't have talked about it.
“Print another one, and I will take care of it,” Levi said. He also didn't want to miss the opportunity to see his wife again, even though he wouldn't be able to see her face.
‘'One last time, just this time, " he thought, pleading with his heart not to misbehave.
Eleanor looked so calm, but a lot of things were going on in her head. Since he had left her inside the penthouse, she had refused to eat or drink water.
'He is a jerk!’ she thought angrily. She wanted to get rid of everything that reminded her of the moment they shared inside the room.
“I hate you!” She threw the remote control beside her at their wedding frame that was hanging in their bedroom.
The shattered sound of the glasses filled the air. “I could love someone like him,” she cried, cursing the day he met him.
After some time, Levi got back to the penthouse. “Good evening, Master,” his butler bowed.
“Good evening; where is my wife?” He asked, forgetting the fact that he was trying to divorce that night.
“She has been indoors since morning, and she refused to eat,” the butler reported. “Are you saying my wife__ Eleanor hasn't eaten till now?” He wanted to repeat the same mistake he made earlier, but he paused.
“Yes sir, she wouldn't eat anything,”
Levi let out a heavy sigh. “Go home,” he ordered, walking towards their bedroom.
When he opened the door, the scene in front of me made him feel empty. He stared at Eleanor, who was still sitting on the cold floor. The glasses were all over the floor.
'My little girl,' he looked at her devastated state.
“It's dangerous sitting there,” Levi said, looking in her direction. Eleanor raised her head angrily, hearing his voice.
She held the lampstand and threw it in his direction. Levi saw it coming and dodged it. He didn't get angry at her attack, but his eyes fixed on her barefoot on the floor, which was filled with sharp objects.
Eleanor walked towards Levi without caring about the glasses on the floor.  “Eleanor!” Levi rushed towards her. He picked her up in bridal style, making sure she didn't get injured.
“Let go of me!” She hit Levi multiple times, but he didn't let go of her till he left the room.
“That was dangerous; you almost got hurt!” He roared, and she snorted at his words. “Don't act like you care!”
