Chapter 146: Not Being Able To Help
“Sophia,” Levi said, his tone softer but still authoritative, “come with me. We need to talk.”
Sophia nodded, finally dropping the aloof expression she had worn throughout the confrontation. “Lead the way.”
Levi gestured for her to follow, and the three of them made their way to his private office. Once inside, Levi closed the door behind them, shutting out the curious employees' prying eyes. He moved behind his desk, his expression now one of deep contemplation as he rubbed his temples.
Sophia remained standing; her posture relaxed, but her eyes were watchful.
“You’ve stirred up a lot of trouble, Sophia,” Levi said after a moment, his voice heavy with the weight of the situation. He fixed her with a steady gaze, searching for any sign of weakness.
Sophia met his gaze head-on, unflinching. “You knew that when you let me go.”
