Chapter 897
As Elliot stepped on the stone slab, Wilda's heart leaped into her throat.
Meanwhile, Cameron, who was hiding in the secret chamber below, held his breath as he heard the footsteps above.
Elliot furrowed his brow slightly. He knocked on the wall in front of him, but it felt solid, not hollow. This meant there were no hidden compartments or mechanisms behind the wall.
"Strange..." he muttered. Could it be that he was wrong?
Had Cameron climbed over the wall and fled instead of hiding in this house?
As she observed Elliot's confused expression, WIlda knew he hadn't figured out the secret was in the floor, not the walls.
To prevent him from thinking further, Wilda said coldly, "Mr. Conners, if you found nothing, apologize and leave immediately. Don't disturb my rest any longer! Or else, don't blame me for what I'll do next!"
Wilda's voice was sharp, her eyebrows raised, and her eyes filled with iciness. Seeing her confident demeanor, Elliot realized he had misjudged the situation.
