Chapter 79: Escaping Misery
Townsend looked pleadingly at Daphne, silently begging her not to reveal his feelings to Alicia. Daphne smiled mischievously, turning her attention away from him while Townsend looked at Alicia with concern.
"Are you okay?" Townsend asked.
Alicia smiled at Daphne and replied, "Why wouldn’t I be? I’m finally escaping this misery. If Linda wants to serve Charles and his family of weirdos, let her. Someday, she’ll be crying to escape."
However, Alicia knew Linda had said one thing right—she needed to get her ID and marriage certificate from Lady Cartie as soon as possible. The faster she divorced Charles, the fewer headaches she’d have to deal with in the future.
At that moment, a waiter approached with a plate of pickled cucumbers and a dish of tomato pasta. Daphne looked puzzled and asked if they had received the wrong order. But the waiter shook his head, explaining that Charles had specifically ordered these dishes for their table.
