Chapter 27: Reclaiming What Was Hers
After hearing Mitchell’s words, Alicia felt a wave of nausea. She wasn’t sure if it was due to her pregnancy or because Mitchell’s shamelessness made her physically sick.
Suppressing the feeling of disgust, Alicia responded to him firmly.
"If you want to bring up the law, then let’s clear up what really happened."
"When you and my mother divorced, you claimed you would take on all the debt from the company and the family because of her illness. Your only condition was that my mother leave with nothing."
Alicia’s eyes narrowed as she stared at Mitchell.
"You knew my mother was suffering from mental illness at the time. Legally, it’s against the law to force a mentally ill person into a divorce. What you did was illegal from the start."
"You were afraid the prosecutor would investigate and reveal your assets, forcing you to give my mother half of everything. So, you came up with that plan."
As Alicia said this, she slowly walked over to Mitchell, looking down at him with cold dete
