Chapter 118: Smirk of Provocation
Giselle’s hand shot up, and with a fierce motion, she slapped Henry squarely across the face.
Nathan’s eyebrows lifted, a storm of rage brewing around him, which he swiftly converted into a smirking challenge.
“Striking me has its price,” he taunted.
But almost immediately, his face received another blow—a punch this time.
Henry toppled the man to the ground, glaring at the still chuckling figure. He bent down and seized him by the collar, his voice icy, “Don’t think for a second that I can’t kill you.”
“Then do it,” the man retorted, almost hysterical. “Kill me right here, right now!”
This was the first time Henry had seen anyone dare to provoke him repeatedly, knowing him as long as he had.
Suddenly, Henry released his hold and, in one swift motion, swept Giselle off her feet, carrying her as he strode back to the mansion.
“What are you doing?” she demanded.
“We’re taking a bath; you’re filthy,” he said matter-of-factly.
