Chapter 56: Homecoming
Giselle’s entire body tensed with discomfort, her voice heavy with anger as she confronted Henry Jefferson, “This is our matter! Why are you doing this to him?!”
With a cold scoff, Henry commanded, “Come here.”
As his words fell, a brutal crash echoed, and Chase’s howls twisted through the air.
The stark white walls were splattered with bright red blood, forming a stark, horrifying contrast.
Unaccustomed to such gore, Giselle shook uncontrollably. Her hand clung to the window sill, her fingertips scraping audibly from the force.
The bodyguard, gripping Chase’s hair, was poised to strike again.
“Stop!” Giselle shouted, her voice nearly breaking with panic.
Struggling to control her trembling voice, she pleaded, “Stop hitting him, I’ll come over...”
Henry nodded to the bodyguard, signaling with a wave to take Chase away.
Blood streaked down Chase’s face, smearing so thickly over his eyes that he could barely see.
He squinted at Giselle, who watched him with a worried frown knit
