Chapter 173: A Gun from Henry
Chase had no choice but to slam on the brakes, his exit from the car greeted by a barrage of gun barrels aimed squarely at his head.
Despite the imminent threat, Chase stood undaunted, boldly confronting Henry Jefferson by his full name.
“Henry Jefferson, I had you pegged for someone formidable, but it appears I was mistaken.”
Henry’s eyes never wavered from Giselle as he dismissed Chase's comment. “Come here,” he commanded tersely.
Giselle remained rooted to the spot.
Undeterred, Henry marched towards her, seizing her hand in an attempt to pull her away.
“Henry, remember your promise. Are you reneging now?” Giselle's resistance was fierce as she wrestled her hand free.
“I keep my word, but do you honestly believe he’d simply release your grandmother?” Henry’s finger jabbed in Chase's direction, his eyes blazing with fury.
“And you can?” Giselle retorted sharply.
Stumped, Henry hesitated; his men had scoured the docks to no avail, her grandmother’s whereabouts still a mystery.
