Men dressed in black swarmed Henry, swiftly binding him with ropes. He made no attempt to resist, his voice calm and even, “What will it take to set Giselle free? Name your price.”
Nathan Jefferson chuckled darkly. “Isn’t it ironic how fortunes reverse? Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?”
He paused, a sinister edge creeping into his tone. “Do you recall how Anya met her end?”
Henry’s gaze snapped to Nathan, his usual composure shattering. “What are you planning?”
“Take a guess. Remember what Anya went through? I want your woman to experience the same.”
“Nathan, you wouldn’t dare!” Henry inhaled deeply, fighting to maintain his composure. “This was my fault. Take your vengeance on me, but leave the innocent out of it.”
“Is she the only innocent? Wasn’t my beloved also caught in an undeserved tragedy?” Nathan’s voice was nearly a roar now. “What are you waiting for? Have you forgotten my orders?”
