As Kenneth steadied himself, preparing to use one of his sure-fire pickup lines, he was suddenly halted by a small body that embraced him. Madelyn's tear-streaked face peered up at Kenneth, her eyes brimming with tears that spilled over as she spoke. "Dad, you said you loved Mom and me more than anyone else. You told us we were the most important girls in your life, and there'll never be anyone else. What's going on? Are you leaving us behind? Mom and I looked so hard for you. How can you do this to us?" Kids do not lie, do they? Teresa was at a loss for words, her mind racing. Logic told her something was off, but her gut screamed that Kenneth was nothing but a scumbag, the kind of guy who would walk out on his own family!
