Jaxson gazed at Elinor, seeing her constantly masking her smiles. An inexplicable warmth settled in his chest. "I didn't know what to reply with," he admitted. "I was afraid that if I responded, you might stop messaging me."
Elinor pouted. How could he even think she would stop messaging? She had practically abandoned her work for days just to be by his side. However, all that seemed insignificant now. At least he had read her messages. Her efforts weren’t in vain, were they?
