Chapter 02
Although the two sisters, Sherry and Joana, were fraternal twins, they still looked alike.
However, upon closer inspection, Sherry's face was pointed and her personality was as gentle as water, while Joana's face was rounder and her personality was cheerful and lively.
Ever since the day of her marriage to Hansel though, Joana's lively face has long been gone and there was only sadness and pain in her world.
The corners of Joana's lips moved slightly as she slowly got up from the bed. She dragged her aching body to the bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror. She had been tortured and used so much that she couldn't recognize her own body anymore. Finally, a bitter smile spilled at the corners of her mouth.
At this moment, her mobile phone rang. It was the ringtone she set specifically for Hansel. She paused, rushed out quickly and picked up the call.
"Joana, be here at the Central Hospital in twenty minutes! The car is already downstairs waiting for you."
Hansel's voice came from the other end, his tone was domineering and there was no room for rejection.
Before she could say a word, Hansel had already hung up the phone.
Tears were threatening to fall yet again. Joana shook her head helplessly as she looked at the unwashed foam on her body. She grabbed a bath towel and wiped it off, then quickly changed into her clothes and got into the car when she got downstairs.
Along the way, her eyelids blinked frequently and her heart tightened. She felt like she was going to lose something once she got there.
She didn't have enough time to wallow in her anxiety because she was able to arrive at her destination in just fifteen minutes.
"What's taking them so long?" Before the car stopped, Hansel, who had been wandering around the door of the hospital, had reached out to pull the car door and immediately pulled Joana away. Then he turned to look at the nurse behind him and said, "She is Sherry's twin sister, they have the same blood type!"
The moment the nurse saw Joana, she was obviously shocked, because the woman in front of her and the one lying inside were really alike. She almost thought it was Ms. Sherry Lu who ran out.
Now that she heard what Hansel said, the nurse was relieved. She glanced at Joana who was pale and hesitated, "This lady, she's not in good condition. I wouldn't be able to draw blood from her."
At this time, Joana finally understood why Hansel made her rush over in a hurry. It turned out it was because Sherry needed a blood transfusion.
"No! She is in good health! She was a sports student before!" Hansel glanced at Joana coldly and insisted, "Hurry up and draw her blood, Sherry can't wait..."
Hearing those words, Joana couldn't help but feel her legs go weak. Hansel didn't care how much blood she was going to lose just to save Sherry.
This was a total disregard for her life.
Joana's eyes were red, and her eyes quivered at Hansel as her voice trembled when she spoke, "If my body can't bear it, then what happens? Do I…?"
Die?
She has listened to Hansel yelling at her countless times, "If something happens to Sherry, then you might as well be buried along with her!"
It turned out that Hansel has already made up his mind.
If Sherry couldn't survive, then Joana shouldn't either.
Seeing Joana's tearful eyes, Hansel's heart trembled slightly, but when he thought of Sherry's bloodless face, he gritted his teeth and said in a deep voice, "Your blood type is rare and the hospital's blood bank doesn't have it. Only you can save her!"
