CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY-EIGHT: THE LAMAZE CLASS FIASCO
As the weeks progressed, the nursery became a point of contention. Claire found herself constantly compromising between Mason's desire for luxury, Olivia's avant-garde designs, and her own vision of a cozy, welcoming space.
One evening, after another long day of decision-making, Claire stood in the half-finished nursery, feeling overwhelmed. Mason found her there, gently rubbing her back.
"Hey," he said softly, "what's wrong?"
Claire sighed, leaning into his touch. "It's just... this isn't what I imagined. I wanted to create this space together, to pour our love into every detail. But it feels like we're building a showroom, not a home for our baby."
Mason was quiet for a moment, taking in the room around them. The walls were prepped for the elaborate mural, and boxes of expensive furniture lined the floor.
"You're right," he said finally. "We've lost sight of what's really important here. This room should be about our son, not about impressing anyone else."
