CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND NINETEEN - The Truth Exposed
As the full weight of the betrayal crashed down on him, Mason heard movement in the bedroom. Claire emerged, her eyes red-rimmed from a sleepless night. She paused when she saw him, uncertainty written across her face.
"Mason?" she said softly. "What's going on?"
Mason looked up at her, his expression a mixture of pain and determination. "I know what's been happening. With the company, with us. And I know who's behind it."
Before Claire could respond, there was a knock at the door. Mason's jaw clenched as he rose to answer it, knowing exactly who he'd find on the other side.
Victor stood in the hallway, his usual charming smile in place. "Good morning, son. I thought we might have breakfast together, discuss some ideas I have for—"
"Save it," Mason growled, grabbing Victor by the arm and yanking him into the apartment. "The game's over, Dad. I know what you've done."
Victor's smile faltered, a flicker of uncertainty crossing his face. "I'm not sure I understand—"
"Cut the crap!"
