Maverick thought Laurelle was only this bold because of their marriage arrangement. Once the engagement was broken, she would not have the guts to act as she pleased. Zachariah's dark eyes flashed with intensity. "Oh?" Maverick gritted his teeth. "We'll tell everyone that Laurelle went to prison for three years and isn't worthy of me! Hence, Bianca became the one who was supposed to get engaged to me. We just haven't announced it yet, so what happened between Bianca and me this morning can be justified." Bianca felt a surge of excitement. With the stage set, everything was falling into place. She had been considering how to bring this up with Maverick subtly, but now he was volunteering the idea himself. Although she hadn't anticipated it would escalate to this point or that her reputation would be destroyed, she was just glad the outcome was the same. Marrying Maverick made it all worthwhile, even with a tarnished name. When Zachariah heard this, he slammed his teacup onto the ta
