I appreciated her offer, though I wasn’t sure I had the energy for a visit. “Thanks, Sasha. I might take you up on that soon. Right now, I just need to get my head straight.”
“Alright,” Sasha said, understanding. “Just let me know when you’re ready. I’m here if you need anything.”
“I will do that,” I replied, feeling a bit of relief. Thanks for calling. I’ll talk to you soon.”
After hanging up, I sighed and looked at my laptop screen. Knowing I had friends who cared made the day's troubles feel a little less overwhelming. I settled back into my bed, the warmth of the blankets comforting as I returned to my work, trying to focus on the tasks ahead. For now, I was finding solace in the familiar routine of my project and the knowledge that I had people in my life who understood.
When the day transitioned into the evening, the dim light filtering through my window made my room feel cozy but also more isolated. I yawned, feeling a wave of sleepiness that I couldn't quite ignore
