The doctors exchanged confused looks but quickly shifted gears. “What are you talking about?” one of them asked, his annoyance clear.
“Just follow me!” I shouted, turning on my heel and heading back to Samantha’s room. The doctors hurried after me, their arguments forgotten.
When we reached the room, I threw open the door. Samantha’s breathing was now rapid and uneven. The doctors rushed in, taking charge of the situation. They quickly assessed her condition, and their earlier irritation was replaced by focused concern.
One of the doctors barked orders, and the other began to administer treatment. I watched my anxiety slowly subsiding as they worked efficiently to stabilize Samantha. I felt a mixture of relief and exhaustion as I realized that she was finally getting the care she needed.
