Camilla “Your Honor,” Enzo began, his voice steady and clear, “I’d like to present to the court the true nature of the man you see before you today.” He gestured toward Shawn, who was still seated, his glare fixed on us. Enzo’s gaze was unyielding as he continued. “Camilla Harrison here is the daughter of one of New York’s most respected businessmen, John Harrison. Unfortunately, Mr. Harrison is no longer with us, and I’m sure you’ll find it pertinent to know why.” A murmur rippled through the courtroom as Enzo’s words sank in. My heart tightened, but I forced myself to stay focused. “Shawn Stones,” Enzo said, pointing directly at Shawn, “murdered John Harrison in cold blood. Why? Because of his blind hatred for Camilla. This man killed her father out of spite.” The room fell silent, the ballast of Enzo’s words hitting hard. I noticed Lydia and Selena shifting uncomfortably in their seats. Their glares were still directed at me but with less conviction now. Enzo wasn’t finished.
