"Okay then. Any last words?" The woman with the gun asked us.
"We have nothing to say to you," I replied, glaring at her.
She smirked and released the bullets.
My eyes snapped open, and I found myself back in the beautifully decorated room from earlier. I was lying on the bed, and Drake was sitting in a chair nearby. My heart scrambled as I looked around, recognizing the room from my earlier dream.
Drake noticed my awakening and smiled gently. “You’re finally awake.”
“What happened?” I asked in a hushed tone, still disoriented.
“You fell asleep after drinking the wine,” he explained. “It seems like it was too powerful for you.”
I rubbed my head, trying to clear my thoughts. “How long have I been sleeping?”
“About an hour,” Drake said. “Is anything wrong?”
I hesitated, my mind still dwelling on the dream. I shook my head, forcing a smile. “No, nothing’s wrong.”
Drake looked at me with concern. “You look troubled. Is something bothering you?”
