Oliver pondered for a long moment before nodding. "You make a good point."
Isaac wasn't surprised or upset. If Oliver had denied his words, it wouldn't have been the Oliver he knew.
Oliver's thoughts drifted to Grace, his little dreamer at home.
"If it hadn't been for the arranged marriage, I might never have met your sister. And when it comes to social standing, maybe I should have married someone with a background like mine—ambitious, driven, and with a similar temperament. Grace is a whole other story. She's carefree, drawn to mischief, and a bit too fond of money.
"You're not the only one who thinks I made the wrong choice. Many people do and it's almost expected. Most assume compatibility comes from sharing the same background, career ambitions, and mindset. They think that's the only way a couple can truly connect, the only way a marriage can work.
"But I know that for people like me, while we might be able to work together, it could never turn into true companionship.
