"How are you sure that Grace has no desire to become the Jefferson family's matriarch?" Juniper asked Jason. "She was forced to marry Oliver. Do you know why Grace did that to you that day? Everyone has their weaknesses and Grace's weakness is her parents. My parents forced Grace to marry Oliver by using her parents as leverage. Or else, she wouldn't have married a guy she's never met before," Jason said. "Since she had no desire to marry Oliver, she must've no desire to compete with you to become the Jefferson family's matriarch. It's all but a useless title to Grace. You have fallen into Maya's trap because you cared too much about saving face," Jason continued. "She was forced to marry Oliver?" Juniper asked again. It was as if the fog cleared up and she could see the truth clearly once again. Jason laid down again and said, "I can't believe that Grace is Oliver's wife. She's young enough to be my daughter. The Gulliver family would've never agreed for Grace to marry Oliver.
