Chapter 1314
Abigail woke up with the imprint of her backpack still pressed against her cheek. James noticed it but decided not to say a single word.
It wasn't until people passing by started giving her strange looks that Abigail realized that something was off. When she got back to the car and checked the mirror, she finally saw the red mark on her face.
"James, why didn't you tell me?" she pouted.
James, ever the straightforward one, replied, "Telling you wouldn't have changed the fact that it's there."
Later, at Everglade Villa, little Cliff sat in his stroller, his eyes fixed on Abigail the moment she picked him up.
He babbled excitedly.
Unable to resist, Abigail planted a kiss on his chubby cheek, making Cliff burst into a fit of giggles.
He adored playing with Abigail. She doted on him endlessly and was always quick to cheer him up the second he so much as frowned.
In the living room, Abigail kept him entertained, coaxing out peals of laughter until he was practically drooling
