Serena's POV “How have you been?” I looked at Tessa Walter. She was looking at me with gentleness in her eyes and I admit I’m not used to seeing her looking at me like this. She used to hate me and the way she behaves around me now is new to me. “I’m fine.” She nodded and glanced at the staircase. Millie is now in her room to clean herself. I actually volunteered to help her but she said she could handle it herself. Now, I’m left here in the living area with Tessa Walter. “I know I hurt you before with the way I treated you, Serena…” Is she gonna open up now? I’ve been wanting to talk to my mother-in-law like this but I never had the chance because she won't open her world to me. She smiled weakly. “I never hated you. I’m just…I was just a toxic mother-in-law who wanted her son for herself only. I don't want him to be taken away because I treasure my son more than anything.
