"Yeah," Yasmin replied. "But we're about to break up."
A soon-to-be ex-husband and a soon-to-be ex-boyfriend weren't so different. Either way, Caleb was about to become her ex.
Hector's expression remained unchanged, but the fist he'd subconsciously clenched slowly loosened.
"I see how it is." A male classmate nodded deliberately, throwing a glance at Hector from the corner of his eye.
Hector shot him a stern look, and the teasing immediately quieted.
As the group began to wrap up for the night, Hector offered, "Yasmin, since you don't live on campus, let me walk you home. It's not safe out here at night."
Yasmin nodded in gratitude. "Okay."
As the two of them walked off, the rest of the group huddled together, speaking quietly among themselves.
"Hector's got the looks, the personality, and a whole fan club. How is he still single?"
