Chapter 18 Accompany Him On A Stroll
Matthew Starks?
Why was he here?
Nell immediately tensed and looked behind Matthew, but she did not see that man’s figure.
Hayley did not recognize him and frowned in annoyance. “Who are you?”
Although the shop assistant did not know who he was either, she recognized the mall manager and hurriedly pulled Hayley’s sleeve before whispering to her.
Matthew sneered and ordered the person behind him, “Leith Corporation has always had a rule of never bullying customers. If a small shareholder of the mall dares to be so unreasonable and come to a store to bully customers, wouldn’t it ruin Leith Corporation’s reputation in the long run?
“Manager Riley, take down what Ms. Morton said today and show it to President Morton later. Never let it be said that Leith Corporation violated the agreement and kicked them out. From today on, make it so that the Morton family is kept out of Times Square!”
Manager Riley was shocked and hurriedly agreed.
Hayley immediately paled.
“You’re with the Leiths?”
Matthew smiled coldly. “Ms. Morton has finally caught on.”
“...Even if you’re with the Leiths, you can’t just make decisions at will!”
“Ms. Morton will know if I can just make decisions when you return. I believe that Chairman Morton will have a nice long talk with you when he gets home tonight.”
Then, he no longer bothered wasting time talking to Hayley and went over to Nell before whispering, “Ms. Jennings, the president is waiting for you outside…”
Nell’s expression changed and she bit her lips.
“My friend is still upstairs…”
“I’ll take care of explaining things to her.”
Nell stared up at him and finally nodded.
After leaving the store and walking several dozen meters to the left, she saw a man standing there.
He was dressed in a black suit and his meticulous appearance was, as always, handsome and tall. He stood there as if he was part of the landscape itself.
He waved at her when he spotted her.
Nell walked over and stopped a few paces from him, and forced a smile.
“President Leith, what a coincidence! Are you also here for a stroll?”
Gideon’s lips curled and he reached out to tug her over.
Nell was unprepared and stumbled. She was instantly shocked at being pulled into his arms.
“What are you doing?”
“Don’t move.”
Gideon raised his hand to remove a fleck of dirt that got into her hair from somewhere. His movements were gentle and very natural.
Nell went into a daze and could not help but blush.
She took a small step back and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, suddenly not daring to look into his eyes.
“Ah… Thank you, for sending Matthew in to help me out.”
Gideon smiled and said casually, “I just happened to pass by and realized that there was an argument in the store, and thought the voice sounded like yours. Who would’ve thought it really was you. I have to say that we’re really destined. We even bump into each other while shopping.”
Nell. “...”
She looked up at him, slightly curious.
“Shouldn’t you be working at the office around this time? Why are you out shopping?”
The man lied with a straight face. “Today’s my off day.”
“I see!”
Although Nell was confused as to why Gideon was having a Monday off, she thought about how bosses were people who set their own times, so she was convinced.
She took a look around but did not see anyone else. “Are you strolling around alone?”
Gideon nodded deeply.
“Isn’t that boring?”
“A little, so can you stroll with me a little?”
Nell paused.
That question… was not easy to answer!
She forced a smile and declined. “I came here with my best friend, so… It wouldn’t be very convenient for you!”
Gideon thought for a moment before nodding. “That’s true.”
He suddenly pulled out a black gold-emblazoned card and placed it in her hand.
“Take this then.”
Nell was startled.
If she was not mistaken, this card was a VIP Centurion Card for malls under Leith Corporation. Putting aside its monetary value, what was more important was what identity it symbolized.
It could be said that possessing this card was tantamount to an acknowledgment that one was part of the Leiths. In the future, no matter where they went, no one would dare to belittle them.
Nell’s mouth fell open in surprise as she stared at Gideon.
“You’re giving this to me? Why?”
Gideon frowned slightly as if he did not like that question.
“Isn’t my, Gideon Leith’s, wife, not worthy of a mere black card?”
Nell. “...”
She really… did not know what to say.
“I haven’t agreed…”
“We’ve already obtained the certificate.” Gideon interrupted her and added seriously, “The reason why I gave you three days is that it might be difficult for you to accept that you’re a married woman all of a sudden. However, that doesn’t mean that you can use it to deny our relationship. You should understand this.”
Nell. “...”
At that moment, her phone suddenly rang.
She could only answer the call first.
The call was from Janet.
“Hello, Nelly? I heard that you had to leave in a hurry? What happened?”
Nell glanced at Gideon.
He seemed innocent, so she could only push her suspicion on Matthew’s head. “It’s nothing, I’m coming back now. Don’t worry.”
“Oh, there’s no need. I just received a call from my agent about a sudden gig, so I might have to rush back. It’s all good as long as you’re fine. Let’s meet up again soon!”
Nell had no choice but to agree and then hung up the phone.
Gideon was all smiles.
“Is your best friend leaving?”
Nell stared at him suspiciously. “President Leith, did you pull strings behind the scenes?”
The man shook his head. “Do I have to go through all that trouble to send your best friend away just to take a stroll with you? I’m not that senseless, and I don’t even know who your best friend is!”
Nell considered his words. He was not wrong.
‘Alright! Let’s just say he escaped suspicion this time.’
Gideon grinned when he saw her expression relax. “Well then, Mrs. Leith, may I have the honor of inviting you on a stroll with me?”
Since he had phrased it that way, how could she refuse?
Nell put on a superficial smile. “What do you want to buy?”
“Hm… Just help me pick out two sets of clothes!”
…
Nell had only been in one relationship in her lifetime, and she had never accompanied a man to buy clothes before.
Jason had never had this honor.
However, she had to say that Gideon Leith really was a walking clothes rack.
He had broad shoulders and a narrow waist, and his slender figure had an exceptionally good head to body ratio. Most importantly, he was extremely handsome!
Every single lady in the stores was fascinated and swooned with blushing faces. They all looked like young girls having their first love all over again.
Heavens! Where did this Adonis come from? He is so handsome! Mom, I want to marry him!
Nell sat there speechlessly and nodded her head every time Gideon changed into another set of clothes.
Oh, this one looks good. This looks nice too. This is not bad either.
After watching for a while, she realized that there was no look that Gideon Leith could not pull off.
No matter what style or design it was, when it came to him, there would be an indescribable aura of handsomeness or refinement.
In short, if this man started working as a model or entered the entertainment circle, no one would pay any more attention to other ‘fresh teen male idols’ anymore.
She could not help but sigh.
It was more than enough that he was filthy rich! Why did he have to be so handsome too?
He was so handsome that it was practically criminal not to sell his face!
Nell “PR-cum-agent” Jennings started her fantasy again, imagining how popular Gideon Leith would be if he was an artist under her. He would definitely become the most valuable cash cow in her hands!
